Standards Involvement
Eedo Knowledgeware participates in and actively contributes to standards organizations
to provide our customers with:
- Technical expertise to deliver value to their business today
- Technical vision to guide and improve their business in the future
- Assurances that we meet the needs of your business and technology
To best serve our customers, Eedo complies or is certified in the following
standards:
SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 CERTIFIED
Eedo Knowledgeware’s ForceTen solution is SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 Certified.
SCORM is a group of standards that combine to describe a methodology for content
packaging and run-time communication and tracking between content and an LMS.
AICC COMPLIANT
Eedo Knowledgeware is actively involved in the AICC. Presently, Eedo is involved
in three designing projects. These include:
AICC Metadata - A possible new standard that will describe an open structure
to allow for multiple metadata models to be stored within one standardized
architecture.
Offline CMI - An upcoming standard that describes a method of communication
between offline content players and an LCMS or LMS specifically in regard to
tracking information.
HACP API Relay - A proposed architecture to resolve the cross
domain issue experienced when working with an API-based system. This standard
may grow to encompass other enhancements to the current AICC packaging and
communication standards including new definitions for course structure, metadata,
and content packaging.
PENS COMPLIANT
At Elliott Masie’s ELEARN 2005, Eedo demonstrated our ability to work
in this standard with Macromedia and a host of LCMS providers. Pens is a standard
describing a method to push content to an application and receive content from
another application. The value of PENS for our customers is that the process
becomes invisible to the user providing a seamless interaction between systems.
QTI
An XML schema describing a multitude of question types so that question data
can more easily be moved from one system to another.
Section 508 COMPLIANT
Eedo Knowledgeware conforms to Section 508 which is a set of requirements
laid out by the US Federal Government to equalize opportunities for individuals
with disabilities.
S1000D
At Eedo, we are monitoring S1000D from an elearning perspective. S1000D is
a standard that is designed to meet the needs of documentation developers and
enables the creation of technical documents in a dynamic manner based on criteria
such as product information, logistics and other factors.
Eedo sees synergies between the S1000D standard and our approach to the dynamic
delivery of training content. There are tremendous benefits in being able to
create compelling training material from a single source. To further support
and enhance Eedo’s capabilities in this area, Eedo is closely monitoring
S1000D developments through attendance at S1000D focused conferences and meetings.
Eedo is actively evaluating its product architecture and roadmap to move forward
with this vision in future releases.
21 CFR Part 11
U.S. Food and Drug Administration's 21 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 11
Eedo provides built in technical controls for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 11 through ForceTen™, our award winning learning content management system (LCMS).
The FDA regulation is a means to ensure that drug makers, medical device manufacturers, biotech companies, biologics developers, and other FDA-regulated industries document their processes and procedures to prove the integrity and authenticity of electronic documents and systems. In learning content and knowledge management that means using a fully configurable LCMS, such as ForceTen, that is able to track and trace when learning content has been added, changed, and deleted, and by whom, using secured electronic signatures and electronic acknowledgements.
