Share Best Practices, Strengthen Knowledge Programs at Eedo User
Conference
Aligning learning to business strategy,
boosting productivity and leveraging informal learning were recurring
themes during two-day conference
NASHUA, New Hampshire – (October
22, 2007) For two days, learning and knowledge professionals
from around the world discussed a range of topics from high-level
strategy issues to the more tactical product training at Enlightened
Path, Eedo Knowledgeware’s 2nd annual user conference, which
concluded last Thursday in Montreal, Canada.
Jim Lundy of the Gartner Group kick-started the conference with
a thought-provoking presentation on future trends that included
discussions about virtual environments and informal
learning. Other
common themes included blended
learning and reuse and repurposing
of content.
BB&T offered ForceTen™ (Eedo’s learning content
management system, LCMS) best practices and content development
tips, MetLife shared how they use ForceTen as a learning content
repository and portal, and Apria illustrated how to develop content
for a diversified workforce. These, along with product demonstrations
including in-depth training on the new features found in ForceTen
5.0, were just some of the sessions attended by the 100 participants.
“The Eedo user’s conference provides us with a wonderful
opportunity to see and hear what our peers are doing with the products.
In addition, we are able to share the benefits of our experience
with other users,” said Keith Currie, Senior e-Learning Developer,
BB&T. “In particular, I enjoyed meeting the members of
our Eedo user group family and discussing other LMS and LCMS related
issues. Those types of sideline conversations are an invaluable
part of the Eedo user conference experience.”
Enlightened Path was designed for learning and training professionals
to strengthen their networks, share best practices and improve
how they create, capture, manage, and transfer knowledge across
their organizations. The conference included case studies, panel
discussions and product demonstrations. Attendees represented a
cross section of industries including aerospace, commercial aviation,
public sector, pharmaceutical, financial services, high technology
and healthcare.
“This was a great opportunity for the Eedo team to learn from
our customers and for them to learn from us and from each other,” said
John Hudson, President and CEO at Eedo. “It’s all about
the content and how to capture and transfer knowledge to increase
productivity and meet business objectives. That’s why we’re
here.”
Next year’s user conference is scheduled for May 2008, in
San Francisco. Visit http://www.eedo.com.
